Happy Bird Day!

Here is a sketch for you to try by Jen del Muro. This is my first time participating, but, not the first time using her sketches.

My inspiration for this card came from Miami, Florida and it's beautiful beaches. It's all about flamingos, palm trees, beaches, etc... This stamp set was just perfect. Unfortunetly, I won't be able to enjoy any of that stuff. It will be a short trip to attend my younger sisters' baby shower. My older sister, Coralia, will be celebrating another birthday this September. This card will be going to her.

To make this card, I used the new In-Color crushed curry from Stampin' Up and their new DSP, Pink Flamingo with the matching retired stamp set Tickled Pink. Love these tropical colors.

To my wonderful SIS!!!

Materials Used:

  • Stampin' Up's Tickled Pink Stamp Set (retired)

Howdy Cowboy

Today we are going to a kids birthday party (my friends son) and I decided to make him a card. I normally don't make cards for kids birthdays, but, this time I decided to go ahead and make one. It hurts me to pay for a card knowing that I have all the materials to make one.
I found this retired one from Stampin' Up, Cowboy Kid that has never been touched. I also used Stampin' Up's retired cardstock and retired DSP that went very well with the stamp set. I went through some sketches I had printed a while back and used one from Taylored Expressions TECC53 .

Here is my Howdy creation.

Gotta go and get the kids ready for the birthday party.

Happy Saturday!

Halloween Theme-PPA5

Wow, I've been in the Halloween Spirit!!! This is my third Halloween card I've made this month.
This week I participated in Pals Paper Arts Halloween theme challenge. I used Sweet Centers stamp set from Stampin' Up along with sweet treat cups. I've seen lots of sample cards on many blogs and splitcoaststampers using these two items together and they are wonderful. I used the Cast-A-Spell DSP and a window sheet from Day and Night DSP from Stampin' Up over the DSP. It looks great. Also, what I like about this card is using Halloween confetti on the sweet treat cups that I bought at Joann Fabric's dollar spot. That's a bargain!!!

Here is my creation for this week's challenge.

Here's a close-up where you can see Chills & Thrills Rub-Ons (Stampin' Up retired product) on the sweet treat cup. You can also see the googly eyes on the stamp image.

Have a Great Night and keep posting amazing cards in the stamping world!

Baby Gift Box

I made this gift box for my younger sister Lucia, who is expecting a baby girl this December. We're also preparing for her Baby Shower and these are the colors we will be decorating with. Brown, Pink, and White. I've been buying her lots of baby stuff wherever I find the GREAT bargains. One of the things I love to shop for girls is hair bows. My daughter Sophia has a collection. So, I might actually be filling up this gift box with lots of them.

I bought all the materials at Michaels to make this project except, the rhinestones and the chocolate chip cardstock.

With this close-up you can see the rhinestones on every circle of the ribbon.

Can't wait to show her with great goodies inside (for the baby)!

Materials Used:

  • me & my Big ideas Baby specialty cardstock (bought at Michaels)
  • Ribbon bought at Michaels
  • Rhinestones
  • Stampin' Up's Chocolate Chip cardstock

Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #36

Another great sketch from Lord Have Mercy!

How about some Strawberries! This card I truly dedicate to my beautiful daughter Sophia. Today was the first day of school for my 8 year old boy and she totally behaved all day. The day went by so smooth. Since she loves strawberries, I made this card thinking of her. Now we'll be taking a trip to the grocery store to buy her some strawberries since she ate the last batch and always asking for more.

Thank You Berry Much Sophia for being Great today!

Trick or Treat-MOJO Monday Week 101

I just love the way this card came out. One of my favorite colors is purple and orange ! Today, I got a box of goodies from Stampin' Up that I had ordered last week and decided to use Cast-A-Spell Designer Paper. I looked through my new stamp sets to see which one would go perfect and found this one, Holiday Best. This is a Level 1 stamp set and I think I will definately use it alot.

Here is my creation which I completed right before the kids went to bed.

Here's a close-up of the card where you can see how I used daubers to ink up the edges of the ribbon and greeting. I also used the Cutter Kit using the 7-sided distressing tool on the edges of the the Perfect Plum and Basic Black Cardstock.
